Folklore Venue · Salt Spring Island
A working lavender farm on the island’s quiet north end. Twelve people, a long table in the rows, and the whole place to yourselves.
The venue
Tucked into the quiet north end of Salt Spring Island, Lavender & Black is a working lavender farm and one of the island’s most romantic places to marry. The setting is calm and open, with rolling fields and a natural sense of ease that makes everything feel intimate, grounded, and personal.
Twelve guests is the ceiling here, and that is the point. The farm suits couples who want the day small enough to actually be in. Ceremonies happen among the rows, dinner sits under open sky, and nothing about the schedule needs to be hurried.
What makes it
Twelve rows of lavender running downhill toward the trees, cut for oil every July. Stand anywhere in them and the photographs take care of themselves.
Open on one side, hung with bundles through the summer, and warm enough to eat in when the evening turns. Dinner happens here or in the open, depending on the sky.
The north end of the island runs out of road not far past the gate. There is no traffic, no neighbour close enough to hear you, and no reason to rush anything.
The packages
Two to six peopleThe farm for an afternoon, held for just the two of you and a few witnesses.
Up to twelve guestsA full day on the farm, from the first setup truck to the last plate cleared.
Estimated investments. Every package starts as a conversation and is shaped to your people and your season.

We had a very hot bike ride to get there and took…
