The venue

Slow down. Focus on each other.

Tucked into the quiet north end of Salt Spring Island, Lavender & Black is a working lavender farm and one of the island’s most romantic places to marry. The setting is calm and open, with rolling fields and a natural sense of ease that makes everything feel intimate, grounded, and personal.

Twelve guests is the ceiling here, and that is the point. The farm suits couples who want the day small enough to actually be in. Ceremonies happen among the rows, dinner sits under open sky, and nothing about the schedule needs to be hurried.

Soft skies, quiet ground

What makes it

01

The fields

Twelve rows of lavender running downhill toward the trees, cut for oil every July. Stand anywhere in them and the photographs take care of themselves.

02

The drying barn

Open on one side, hung with bundles through the summer, and warm enough to eat in when the evening turns. Dinner happens here or in the open, depending on the sky.

03

The quiet

The north end of the island runs out of road not far past the gate. There is no traffic, no neighbour close enough to hear you, and no reason to rush anything.

I LOVE lavender and visit many farms and these products are by far the best lavender smell and taste! Also great trails next it for walking and riding. We had a very hot bike ride to get there and took…
